As well as undertaking standard hypothesis-led research, we collaborate on Machine Science investigations, which is is a new and interesting scientific methodology that uses advanced computational techniques to identify, retrieve, classify and analyse data in order to generate hypotheses and develop models.
W. Hamish B. WALLACE

Hamish is a Consultant Paediatric Oncologist at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children, Edinburgh and a
Reader in the Dept. of Child Life and Health, University of Edinburgh.
His research focuses on the late effects of treatment on survivors of childhood cancer, fertility preservation, and clinical trials of Hodgkin's lymphoma. He is President of EuroNet, the European network for paediatric Hodgkin's lymphoma.
He is Lead Clinician for CATSCAN (the Children and Teenagers Scottish Cancer Network)
Thomas W. Kelsey
BSc., MSc., PhD
Tom studied Mathematics at Heriot-Watt University, Numerical Analysis & Programming at the University of Dundee, and Computational Mathematics at the University of St Andrews, where he is currently a Senior Research Fellow.
He specialises in the modelling and analysis of clinical data, and automated cell detection & enumeration from histological samples.
His other research interests include symmetry-breaking in constraints satisfaction problems, and the enumeration of abstract algebraic entities.
